We stayed around the time of the Fourth of July, visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor. We would definitely come here again for trips to this area. Here's why:nnReception: A Proprietor that was good spirited, authentically warm and generous, seemed to be looking for ways she could make our stay and our overall trip more comfortable and enjoyable. Going to the main cabin was always a pleasant experience. Fresh brewed coffee and homemade muffins each morning.nnRooms and accommodations - we were looking for homey and comfortable, this was a good fit for us. Decor was more evocative of a living space than a hotel, kind of like what you would get with a well kept bed and breakfast. Rooms and bathrooms were clearly cleaned, some things that are often overlooked in affordable hotels were present here, all of the toiletries, towels, suitcase stands etc. Matched what was appropriate for the size of our party. Just a note because I've browsed some other reviews: for what it's since it might be a subjective point, I'm over 6' and didn't have an issue with mattress size or comfort, and none of us noticed any trouble with sound from cars passing on rt. 3 outside in the night though we were in one of the rooms right up against that road.nnLocation - difficult to beat. Far enough away from Acadia and Bar Harbor to feel tucked away yet only a 20 minute or so drive from Acadia's entrance. There were several restaurants nearby, careful though about going late (though they were nice enough to give us a table right before closing time). The bakery across the street from the inn looked delicious and had a lot of traffic in and out, bit with the complimentary muffins we ended up passing.
My boyfriend and I stayed for a night over Columbus Day weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, they booked up for our second night but we’re so happy we got to stay here for the first. The staff is very friendly and our cottage was cozy and warm. We slept like babies and felt at home. We didn’t get to use the indoor jacuzzi but we got to try some of the homemade berry muffins in the morning. They were the BEST berry muffins we had in Maine and that’s saying a lot. I would highly recommend a stay here!
A wonderful place to stay just outside Acadia National Park. We stayed in Cabin 8. The AC was cold. The queen size bed was very comfortable. We slept fine. The minifridge was great. Nice and cold. The little freezer refroze my ice blocks every night to keep the stuff fresh in my little cooler the next day. The fresh muffins every morning were delicious. Two different varieties every morning. We had a nice, warm fire at the fire ring the first night using the wood they provided. The hot water was hot. The place was clean. The high speed Internet was blazing fast. I uploaded all my pictures from the day in a matter of minutes. We were there three nights. No negatives at all
2nd stay here. Both top notch visits. After a long day hiking, the hot tub was fantastic! Walking distance to both breakfast and dinner places. Quiet setting and the rooms are very nice. Will come again next year for sure!
The cabins are very private and enough space for a single or couple to stay in. They're clean and cozy and although you can slightly hear cars as they pass during the day time, it's very quiet at night. Excellent wifi coverage in he cabin. The location is a short drive to Acadia National park and Bar Harbor. I highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting the area.
