We didn't stay in the cabin (closed due to Covid-19) and had packed tents anyway, but it was still a good spot for a base-camp to do other hikes from. The Port-a-Jon was easily the cleanest we'd ever used so that right there gives it 5 stars. They have a large dedicated fire pit, a box to store food in at night, and a few picnic tables too. These are probably more for group type of outings, but if you need them, they are there for anyone.nnThe view is pretty spectacular and the entire site well cared for. We set up a ways off the trail though as once you're up at the site itself the wind is pretty strong at night, and during the day (if it's a warm day) you're kind exposed to the sun.nnBe aware that there is NO WATER available on site, though not too far down the trail are a number of natural springs. When we visited in NOV 2020 it was the end of a very long dry season, so where you'd normally have running streams, instead you had dry stream beds. Again, we had no problem finding any number of natural springs though (maybe a half mile down a trail). Either way, you need to bring in your own water or have the means of purifying the spring water (cold and clear yes, but microbes still will be present).

one of the 2 hotels in oxeri... this place should be called the 7th brush mountain inn. thats what i'll decide to rename it in 2026 when oxeri and brushland are around. the other one is in cardigania province. in the future, i'd enjoy seeing you there at these hotels :)

This place is such a gem, I almost wish it wasn't here on Google Maps. Beautiful cabin with awesome views. Those who donated their time and money to build it and continue to manage it are wonderful people. If you choose to stay here please keep it clean and donate a few bucks to keep it free and open to the public!
