This firm's outstanding work is well known around the New England area as well as throughout the masonry industry and masonry preservation and restoration world for excellence. I always watch with amazement at the projects Ward is working on with his team. I would recommend them heartily for projects that truly matter and need to be trusted to the best. Its hard to find a firm that cares about their work as this firm does. Results like the ones they produce for projects are equally hard to find elsewhere. I have seen them tackle projects that are quite a challenge, however the results are amazing, thanks to the richness and depth of understanding that Ward's experience, expertise on historic preservation and education each bring to bear on his chosen projects. Breathtaking results and an excellent service experience along the way. It's been an honor to know and work with Olde Mohawk and Ward Hamilton. We hope to cross paths again in the future!

This is the company to go to for the challenging or everyday roofing needs of a historic home. I was referred to them by the Cambridge Historic Commission and I'm incredibly impressed by their work on the incredible 19th century Harvard Square home I help manage. Ward has been easy to reach, pleasant and responsive from the get go. Early this summer he came out to help replace shingles and assess the roof in general. He found that the rubber roof will need replacement in the near future- but more urgently, his team discovered rotten wood in the gutters which threatened to destroy the hand carved corbels all around the roof. Thankfully he was available to repair these wooden box gutters before the fall set in. The new copper lined gutters are of the highest quality craftsmanship. I know this because throughout the process his team kept us up to date with photographs and check ins. They were fastidiously neat, even if they were Yankee fans. For the price, it was a repair well worth it- the gutters should last a hundred years, and the corbels are now protected. Next year we'll have Olde Mohawk tackle the rubber roof.nnDid I mention that Ward writes articles about things like preserving box gutters for a historic roofing magazine?? That's the kind of guy you want to help shore up your investment. And not only that, but he is a very nice person besides.
