We weren’t visiting Durham on vacation. A family member and been admitted to the hospital, come to find out it seems that some how bacteria had been sealed into the central nervous system of a family member directing a very invasive surgery for skin cancer that had moved from the surface, burring through the skull attacking her brain. Unfortunately the infection ran undetected for probably 10 days developing into bacteria meningitis and aggressively spreading through the spinal fluid and causing her to drift off to sleep and then became unresponsive leading to a brain function test, revealing the was none.nSo we were in Durham to say our good byes, and the stay and room and staff over the week we were there gave us a stress free haven away from some of the worst moments in life.nI’m going to close by saying you can’t go wrong by staying here no matter the reason you need a calm port in whatever storm is impacting your life at the moment

Room was immaculate. Everything worked. Reservation process flawless. Staff was courteous and helpful whenever they were needed. Don't let the outside and location full you. Excellent short stay or stop-over establishment.

They illustrate a discount of $97 for surgeries. That's a pretty high price when they offer no amenities like some kind of breakfast in AM. Other hotels are providing breakfast some way even though it may be a bit more challenging. I have to go up to Durham this month a couple more times, but will not be chosing this hotel anymore.

I had to come into town for some medical issues and chose to stay here. The staff was fantastic...very caring and attentive. It made the trip in from out of town a lot more bearable. Would definitely stay here again for any of my hospital trips.

Be sure to check you bill and keep a copy of your receipt when you check out. We spent two nights there in July and we paid our bill at check out, but they are showing us owning for six nights at a cost of $618.03. Our receipt shows us owning for two nights and it shows that we paid for the two nights. But our Visa bill was charged for 3 nights at $308.08 and one night at $103.31 and also our payment of $206.64 for the two nights we actually stayed there. The accounting department at Duke would not take my calls or return my calls so I was never able to speak to a person concerning our bill. With the help of the great staff at ECU we hope we have finally gotten this mess resolved. Keep your receipts and always check your Visa statements. Anyone can make a mistake! This could have been a big mistake for us had we not kept our receipt and checked our Visa statement.
