Courtyard by Marriott Durham Near Duke University/Downtown

FYI: This review was posted shortly after my stay in November 2018.nNot worth the price! Room was clean and comfortable but not to the level I experienced at other Courtyards by Marriott. The front desk staff was ok. The bistro staff was not very pleasant. The hotel may have been too busy for the bistro to accommodate the amount of customers it had, in a timely manner, which affected service. I was never able to successfully connect to wifi with my phone. When I went to the front desk for help, the lady simply said she had never been able to successfully connect with her phone either. She gave me their help desk number. I called and I was told the wifi was down (even though I was able to connect with my laptop).

The best place to stay! Everyone is great and go out of their way to make you feel at home

Room with California king bed and fold out single was $120 a night. It was very small but clean. I love that it had a balcony. However our toilet was stopped up and we had to unstop it ourselves. We cleaned our own everything.. vacuuming ,sweeping,etc. Had to pay for breakfast too, which I thought was free. Thank God the house keepers leave their carts in the hallways lol. We had to ask for towels or they were never brought. I never had to request what should be already given daily. But the worst was when I sat outside after midnight cause my key card wouldn't work and no one would respond to the door alarm bells being pressed.

Was very nice,clean. A very good place too stay a few days. Would recommend to anyone.

Staff were good. Room was recently redone. Tile work in bath was sloppy. Overspray on the threshold. No USB charging ports in the room. No coffee in the lobby or breakfast. I guess Marriott wants monetize morning coffee and breakfast. I wont book at a courtyard again.
