Best Western Mountain Lodge At Banner Elk

Giving 5 stars for the staff at this location. They are always so kind and professional. We asked for fresh coffee in the evenings and loved how nice everyone was. Location is perfect for surrounding areas to explore. The rooms on the 1st floor need a nice makeover. Dusting behind nightstands and older beds. Bathroom tub had a leak and would not shut off, again these rooms need a nice refresh! Overall, very clean.

BEST STAY I HAVE HAD IN WHILE. Staff was respectful of CDC guidelines, rooms were clean/a good value, and only a 15 minute drive to Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The morning of check-out we discovered the battery of our car was dead, the front desk staff was very helpful, and maintenance jumped our car in a timely fashion. Breakfast has a variety of to-go options including hot sausage biscuits which was great before a day of skiing. Thank you for a great stay!

It’s so disappointing to go to a hotel that claims to be pet friendly when they really are not. Telling a dog not to bark at the hotel is like telling a mother to have her baby stop crying in the mall.nAs a dog owner I would never go back to this hotel. We had such a bad experience.nWe initially were going to stay two days but cut our stay to one day. The front desk made us feel so uncomfortable.nThere are other options on the mountain that are truly dog friendly. I would suggest for the cost of staying at the hotel you can rent a condo. It’s so much nicer and you are not getting calls constantly telling you they are adding a $20 charge to a $180.00 a night stay. Saying others are complaining because your dogs are barking. Dogs bark it’s what they do. Truly dog friendly hotels understand this. Why would I try to avoid paying the fee? The hotel has a copy of my credit card on file.

Hey! We just wanted to give a heads up that we used your website to book a pet friendly hotel and from the minute we got to the hotel we were harassed about our animals. We left to grab a bite to eat and as soon as we returned the phone rang ( which made us feel like we were being watched) and we were told that our dogs were barking. First off we are in a motel not a hotel and there are cars driving by and slamming doors. What dog does not bark when it hears a car door slam or a horn honk? The lady at the front was extremely rude and told us that if it happened again she would call back with consequences. We are very upset. We have been looking forward to this trip and it has put a horrible taste in our mouths. We appreciate the help but we wanted you to know that this is not a pet friendly hotel at all. This is basically motel 6 with the name “ Best Western”.

We are long time repeat guests at BW in Banner Elk and will continue to be. From check in to check out, everything is top notch. Stephanie at the front desk is awesome in a very personable and professional way. She always makes us feel welcome and has a kind word for our German Shepherd, Zane. She says he is beautiful and we agree! Housekeeping does an excellent job and breakfast is very generous. We love BW Banner Elk. Great management and great staff.
