The Inn at Mitchell House and innkeepers Tracy and Jim Stone are in a league of their own. They are quite simply the best. We’ve been coming to the Inn since our middle daughter was 2 (she’s 24 now!) and we can feel the stress of our everyday lives just melt away as we turn into the beautiful tree lined driveway. The house is historical and stunning, the breakfast is homemade and to die for and the grounds are tranquil, spacious and peaceful. The cottage is equally wonderful. Tracy and Jim have owned the house for 30 plus years and they will guide you to the best restaurants and activities in the area. What more could you ask for? We spent a glorious week this summer at the cottage and came home feeling completely restored with great memories. We have traveled extensively and have stayed in dozens and dozens of places across the U.S and Europe, but The Inn at Mitchell House holds a special place in our hearts. We can’t wait to return!

Great place filming our tv show there and the woman that worked there was super kind and the place was beautiful

Nice place just a few minor things that kept it from 5 stars. Very nice soaking tub but no way to plug the drain.(had a stopper but wrong type and to small to cover drain). No outside lighting so if you return late it was very dark after parking in the grass to walking on grass and gravel to front door.

Tracey and Jim were friendly while at the same time allowing us privacy.nThe 33 years that they have spent in their home are obvious - through the incredible collections of knick knacks and knowledge of the area.nDinner ideas, day trips, things to do, hikes, etc...if you do not have a clue Tracey and Jim do! So, ask.nIf not the best then absolutely among the best B&Bs that we have visited. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful stay in what could have been a stressful time traveling during the pandemic. Jim and Tracy were so welcoming, helpful and took great attention to detail. They even accommodated a gluten intolerance every morning for breakfast without skipping a beat. They remembered drink orders every morning, brought us bug spray if sitting outside and were always helpful with dining recommendations. Our room was the quietest room we have ever stayed in and it was in an old house of all places! Loved the history of the property and can’t wait to return!
