Gambrill State Park

Great place to hike. Wonderful views on both sides of the mountains. Trails are rocky and steep in places so need to have good footwear. Hiking trails are not strenuous but one does need to be in reasonable physical shape to navigate some areas. Nice picnic facilities and scenic overlooks you can drive to.

Need to be taken care of

Visited on a day that had some snow, but the snow didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time! Beautiful view! And I especially loved the little trivia cards along the trail :)

Highly recommend going in the winter, after the trees have lost their foliage because you can enjoy much more of the view. We did the 3 mile Black Locust hike in about 2 hours in the snow. It was gorgeous with great lookouts.
