At the last minute my husband and I decided to spend the night in Oakland MD. While eating dinner we began a google search of hotel near by. We found one with a 4.5 star rating, The Oakland Motel it should have a 5 star rating. The proprietor was very considerate and show is to our room, making sure that we were happy with it. He made sure the temperature of the room was adequate and it was perfect. He also made sure that I would have what I needed for makeup removal.nBed and pillows were extremely comfortable and room was impeccably clean!nWe will stay here again and will recommend to friends and family!

We stayed here this past weekend. In town for a family members 50th birthday. I'm 31 and dont believe I've ever stayed at a motel but that was basically all the town had to offer. Let me tell you this place was an unexpected gem!! Our room was supremely clean! (Besides from a water smell I think the humidifier gives off...wasnt bad after initial walk in). The owner (I think he was the owner) stayed up until 2am to wait for us due to car trouble having us super behind. He was very courteous and seemed to generally care if we bad a good stay. The only reason I give this place 4 out of 5 stars is quite frankly, as mentioned before, the dead bolt issue is a little alarming for 1st timers in a new town. We had two rooms and both dead bolts were rendered useless. I'm sure they have their reason but coming to a new town you'd like that added security. My fiance actually made me put a chair to the door the first night lol... she was too liberated to remember the other nights. All in all good stay and if ever in oakland again I'd stay here for sure !!!
