Went for the Murder Mystery Dinner. Enjoyed the entertainment immensely. Dinner was okay. Prime rib was cooked well but came out cold. Potatoes were the star of the show on this one. Will consider going again!

Amazing place. Went on the ghost tour, the host was extremely knowledgable having lived all her life in the home. She was full of energy and made the experience memorable. Highly recommend you either stay at the B&B or try the ghost tour.

This is not your typical B&B! The mystery dinner was not what I expected, but was funny. The home is in need of a very good cleaning. So, if you have allergies, such as I do, this probably isn't the B&B for you. The tv volume did not work in my room, which made for a very long night. I was unable to stay for breakfast, as I was not feeling well from the dusty room by morning.. Had I had a way out, I would have left, but only one key and noway to leave without waking everyone up.

My husband and I attended a murder mystery dinner at Glenfield B&B. It was Valentines weekend so we went all out spending $313 on the dinner, “theater”, champagne/chocolates/rose pkg. , and ghost tour. (Does not include the hotel stay) I’ll list the pros and cons.nnPRO list is short so I’ll start with that.nn1.The people at our table were great! We had an enjoyable time with them.n2. The actors/servers were very kind and helpful.nnOk now for the CONS... so many I’ll address them chronologicallynn1. 6:45 pm Upon arrival we were told to follow the (very narrow) driveway around behind the house to park... we were expecting a place to actually PARK... not just stop one car behind the other... in the driveway... TOTALLY BLOCKED IN! No room on either side to get out. (Hills on both sides) Guests would be leaving at different times according to whether they were staying for the ghost tour or not. I don’t know what their exit plan was for that.n2. 6:55 We were immediately met at the door and directed to the CASH bar where we paid $16 for a small plastic cup mixed drink. While in line I noticed the lady running the show was being somewhat rude to her employees.n3. After finishing our drinks, we asked about our bottle of champagne. Waitress responded that they usually WAIT UNTIL THE END to give out the champagne (why ?????), but if we wanted it she would bring it, but we could order another (overpriced) drink instead. Of course we wanted it! ???n4. While socializing with people at the table I noticed my earring was missing. I got up and asked one of the waitress/actresses if they had seen it. She very politely asked the director if anyone had seen it... the lady jumped all over her... screaming at her in front of the rest of the staff... then looked up to see me standing there and got all nice and apologetic. ud83dude21 Very unprofessional management/owner that treats their staff like that!!!n5. 8:30!! Yes, an hour and a half after we got there... we still had no food. The whole ordeal was supposed to be done by 9:00. When I asked when we would get the food... I was told as long as people were ordering drinks... They wouldn’t have time to serve the food. When we finally got our food it was stone cold and looked like something served in a nursing home. I paid $7 extra for the prime rib... very fatty, thin, and stone cold. I ate the small bit of cold potatoes because I was so hungry. Reminder... we pd over $95 a plate (includes tax) for this and the “murder mystery act”..n6. As for the murder mystery part... it was loud in the very crowded (46 people) small space... that we didn’t realize when the acting/clues would randomly start. The actors were also servers and talked to guests... adding to the confusion of when we were supposed to be listening/watching the show.n7. Since the whole thing ran overtime... we cut our losses on the $20 for the ghost tour and TRIED to leave... of course there were cars in front and behind. Finally an employee came out to move the vehicles in front of us. Just as he got started the catering truck blocked the driveway (only room for One vehicle) so we were at a standoff. The van would not back up but could not come forward because we were proceeding. Employee finally got out and made the catering truck move. After another 15 minutes we were finally on our way.nnI was really sad that I could not give a good recommendation to this venue. We paid a lot of money for our special Valentines/Anniversary memory... and I wanted my friends to have a fun place to go... to do something different. In the end it was the overall unprofessional management, parking situation, and cold, low quality food... that obligated me to write this review. I wouldn’t want someone else to anticipate a top quality night like we did.

Our stay at the Glenfield was wonderful... It started by being greeted at the front door by the epitome of southern ladies, Miss Marjorie and her daughter Valerie.... They immediately made us feel like family visiting in their home. The tour of the home was very interesting and to learn about the history of the home as well as the city of Natchez was fascinating coming from folks who themselves are living history. Our room was comfortable and decorated completely with antiques which have been in the family for generations... The breakfast part of the B&B was fantastic and perfect for starting our day full of exploring the wonderful mansions in the area and trying to absorb as much history as possible. Our evenings were quiet and peaceful with the wind blowing through the large oaks. No city noise to bother us. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying with folks we have the pleasure to call friends and look forward to seeing them again in the future.
