Even after years of excellence The Goodstone never stops trying to innovate and improve. I always love my meals in this charming setting and look forward to sampling old favorites and new additions. I seldom eat bread, but I make an exception here because the bread is amazing, truly enhancing the food rather than serving merely as high-calorie filler. The food in this region of Virginia has steadily been getting better over the years, with more variety and sophistication, and The Goodstone remains a standout.

My husband and I have dined at The Goodstone a few times, and wanted our children to enjoy the pleasure of that experience. As a Christmas present, we treated them to an overnight in the Manor House (4 bedrooms with private baths) and dinner in the wine cellar. With ample gathering spaces and beautiful rooms, the Manor House was the perfect venue for our Christmas celebration. We even brought our canine family members (for a fee). Deer came right up on the porch and gazed in the windows as we sipped our morning coffee. Breakfast was delivered to the door. Not even the pickiest eaters in our group had a single complaint about dinner in the wine cave. We can't say enough about the service and staff at The Goodstone, especially Sarah and James, who attended to every detail to ensure that our stay was perfect. We look forward to our next visit.

Goodstone is just beautiful. The atmosphere is warm and elegant and cozy. The staff is polite respectful and really on point! And the food is amazing. The chicken was sous vide and it was so tender and so flavorful! Everything we ate was amazing! As always it was just a really great experience! And one of our favorite places to go on a Sunday brunch!!

The staff, location and property all warrant the Goodstone Inn's reputation. The staff are attentive, accommodating and caring- as cliche as it sounds, they make you feel like old friends during your stay.nnMy wife and I were fortunate enough to host our wedding at the Goodstone. Gordon, Paloma, Asheton Rose, Ryan, Stuart and Chef Jan VH all worked together to ensure that our day went as well as possible.
