Amazing experience. Truly unique in the best possible way. Southern hospitality served in a way that Virginia aristocracy made famous. The family that perfected it brings you into their fold. You are surrounded by stunning antiques, four-poster beds, oriental rugs and an authentic feel that cannot be replicated except by actual history. The food is southern comfort food served on a massive dining room table. This is the real deal. Our meeting group all vowed to return. The price was right and the experience was authentic in every way. We loved it! So will you!

Welbourne is an amazing place. I stayed for an extra night because I was so charmed and thankful to have found a quiet, peaceful place to relax. The house is beautiful, quirky, and a completely unique step back in time. The hosts are truly welcoming and genuinely kind. I loved walking through the fields of horses to Goose Creek, in spite of the drizzle. I will be back.

We were so lucky to have Welbourne for our wedding! Not only is it the perfect place for the ceremony and the reception, but it also provides enough beds so that out-of-town guests (and inebriated friends) have a place to stay. We had approx. 150 guests, a tented reception, the ceremony in the garden, and there was plenty of room for parking.nnSince we had the venue for the whole weekend, the timing of everything was very flexible, which was so great since a lot of other venues give you a very short window for your event.nnThe house and grounds are so charming - it is one of my favorite places, and is by far my favorite wedding venue (and I am a florist, so I see a lot of different venues :)

Welbourne is a special place and it keeps us coming back again and again. Every visit is restorative, an opportunity for reconnection with nature and with amazing people. We also love the town, the surrounding countryside, local wineries, and great food. It’s less than 60 miles from our house in Montgomery County but it’s really another world. If you want modern and glitzy, go somewhere in town. If you want authentic hospitality and charm, this is for you.

My husband and I were married here over 20 years ago, and we still cherish our memories of our wedding weekend. Welbourne is such a gorgeous place, especially in May when everything is in bloom. The Morison family made us feel like Welbourne was our home for our stay and were so helpful with all the wedding details. If you are looking for a place that is both comfortable and elegant, relaxed yet gracious, you will love Welbourne.
