My wife and I have vacationed at the McKinney's establishment annually for all but one of the seven years we have been married, the exception being a memorial service. The accommodations are always spotlessly clean, exceptionally peaceful and quiet, and as cozy as you could ask for.nnSimply thinking about our cabin at Volunteer Gap causes a drop in blood pressure and an involuntary restive sigh. Located in a scenic and relatively peaceful portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chateau Morrissette and Mabry Mill are under a half hour away, Hanging Rock State Park is an hour, Greensboro is maybe 90 minutes. Get drunk, get exercise, get food, Volunteer Gap Inn and Cabins is a great getaway.nnThe quiet peace and serenity of the nights here will seriously make you reconsider why you don't just move here and the relaxing drive surrounding the cabins on the Parkway will make you despise your normal commute. We have yet to come once where it was not blissfully peaceful, and yet there were other guests on the property each time. The McKinneys are wonderful hosts, always pleasant to interact with, and keep one of the tidiest accommodations we have ever stayed in.
It's a wonderful place to stay! Clean and the owner Deena is as sweet as they come. Quite get away! I have lost count how many times we have been.
This placr is PERFECT, quaint rustic cabins, pond, location and the owners are super!!! Our family loves this area and it is our go to place to get away!!!
We had a good time. Even though we had a rainy and foggy weekend. our 22nd anniversary. Plan to go back.
The rooms and the owners are amazing! We got four rooms for our BFC group and we're very pleased and planning another trip back to stay. Rooms are very clean and have a wonderful county feel.
