Amber Inn Motel

I felt for the price paid this was a great value. Seeing the price I was a bit skeptical of how the hotel would be but it was the only one around. I was pleasantly surprised. The buildings and room were clearly dated, but everything was working and clean. The lobby had a nice homey feel and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. The woman who manages it was super friendly and helpful. Overall much better than expected for the price point and I would stay again if I was passing through.

Fairly clean rooms comfortable beds great deal for $55 a night

Worst motel experience EVER!. Arrived at 4:30pm and the room was not ready. We had to change clothes for a class reunion and had to use an open room. I repeatedly asked to be on the back side of the motel due to freeway and railroad noise and was told they would. The ditsy manager put us on the noisy side (Noise all night). When we opened the room we found at least 50 flies on the ceiling and on the furniture. When I called down, she told me it was a bad fly year. The air-conditioner sounded like a jet taking off, every time it went off hundreds of times that night. In the morning, I prepared to take a shower, after killing 6 flies in the bathroom with a towel. To my surprise there was no handle on the shower. I called down and she said, Oh I thought he had fixed that, I'll send him right up. In 30 minutes he showed up and after 2 trip made a very hokey repair that worked half way. Did I mention that the TV did not work. It kept saying the Smart Card was incorrect. The maintenance man said he would go get another receiver so the TV would work. We went to breakfast and when we came back, I saw him and asked if it was fixed and he said, no all the rooms were full so he could not get one. That was a lie, we saw many vehicles check out early! All in all it was the worst motel disaster EVER! Parking lot was full of utility vehicles and appears popular for workers, but I would NEVER stay there again and I shared our comical and exasperating experience at my local class reunion. A couple of classmates shared that my experience was common and well known by the locals. It is run down and very poorly managed. Pay a little more and get a good room somewhere else. AVOID room 202. In fact, avoid Amber Inn completely.
