American Classic Inn

Our time at American Classic was my favorite part about NYE! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Check-in was quick, easy, and safe with the drive-up window. The newly remodeled rooms were so cute, I couldn't stop complimenting all of the unique furniture and decor! The room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and check out was so simple. Thanks for making NYE a night to remember, we will definitely be back!

I have stayed at the American Classic Inn several times while visiting family and absolutely LOVE it! Each room is uniquely decorated in a style I would describe as vintage modern with a southwestern flare. My favorite thing about staying here is that the rooms are SPOTLESS every time. I've stayed at multiple other places in the area and none compare in cleanliness. A few other things I absolutely love about this place are the accommodating and welcoming staff and pet friendly amenities. Now that I've found this gem I will never stay anywhere else in Salida!

New renovations are amazing. Fantastic retro theme! Great prices, friendly staff! I love the throwback feel of the classic motel, but with a more modern/upgraded finish. The rooms were clean and well decorated. Will definitely visit again.

Perfect place to stay off you're looking for a well priced, but cozy place to stay close to monarch. Super cute, comfortable bed, clean, pet friendly!

The location is easy to find, the green sign does not fit the remodel but is very visible from the road. Due to COVID you can not go in to check in but can either attempt to use the drive up window from vehicular or walk up to it. Be ready to wait as it took the two young girls over 10 minutes to check me in. I told them I was freezing to basically beg them to move a little faster but they were busy giggling. At check in I verified I booked a King bed for two adults and agreed to all their terms. As I was bringing my stuff into the room the phone rang, it was one of the young girls from the front desk ... asking me again to verify that there were only two adults staying in the room... “Are you sure it’s just two of you?” How bizarre and rude ... why would I book a king bed for more than two? Why would I need to lie? What more proof do you need? I stood in the freezing cold for 10 minutes in front of a large glass window were the pair could clearly see my partner and I were the only two in the vehicle ... absolutely unacceptable and boarder like harassment. The rooms are well decorated but small with the amount of furniture in them. The heat only goes as far as the sleeping area and does not sufficiently heat up the bathroom. It was so cold my partner and I opted out of using the shower. The room appeared to be clean but when packing up it was discovered that under the bed was dirty underwear, Vaseline and bottle caps ...
