Rocky Mountain Inn

Very nicely renovated and decorated some years back. Clean, bathrooms are very nicely appointed (deep, clean sinks). Staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The owner? Uhh..not so much. She might upsell or charge extra fees. I guess that's her job.

I love this place! It's beautiful and service is amazing! Will always stay here when I'm in Paonia.

Owner was extremely rude. After my request for an ADA room, she questioned my Moms service animal & stated that there were going to be extra charges because of the dog. She then was bullyish stating that I probably bought a service certificate online and she wanted to see it. Lady, you just violated so many ADA rules and you will be reported. Do not EVER treat a handicapped person with distain or disrespect. We left and took our business elsewhere. Not a good business sense in that she gave her town a terrible blemish.n** Update** In response to the creative response from ownership. I very clearly stated the dog is documented ESA- you said you don’t recognize that status because they can be obtained thru the mail. I explained that you may not charge additional for a service animal (not even a cleaning fee) you may not do additional inquiries other than what the dog is used for (may not ask breed then state “they shed too much) nor may you tell me that I may only have a certain room (that’s another discrimination) and that the dog cannot be in the courtyard and that the dog must be taken off premise to relieve itself. I very clearly and calmly informed you when you crossed ADA guidelines at which time you disagreed. I never threatened or became hostile- I did take your business card so I would have a name and number to report to ADA. I have 2 parents with disabilities and both of them were SPED teachers for over 30 years. Yes- I know what our rights are and will re-emphasize that you had very poor business skills and dreadful personal skills.

The view from the inn is pretty cool and the full size fridge and stove were nice to have, but it was pretty expensive and some stuff seemed kind of outdated. Overall a great stay though.

They were nice and brought over pot pies. For $160 it wasn't worth it though. When I tried to shower, I couldn't even wash my hair because there was not enough water pressure, the toilet kept running because the stopper in the tank didn't work and whoever stayed before us kept the alarm set for 4:30 a.m.! Woke us up.
