Great food, Great service, Friendly staff and the Best Location on the island! Can be as loud (bar area) or laid back (fire-pits) as you need. The chowder is a must have. Adding AC a few year ago made the experience complete. Looking forward trying the raw bar this year.
I’ve stayed at The National several times. Every time has been excellent. I’ve enjoyed the front desk hospitality, the back lawn fire pit, the amazing front porch breakfast and the fun music and nightlife at the bar. The food and service have been impeccable. The location meets all of my needs - walk to beach, shops, restaurant, and ferry. I love The National.
The National Hotel is a historical landmark! I have been coming to The Block many years since1967's ++! Stayed mostly on boats, then friends homes or their Bed&brkfst, a few times other spots! This 2020 chose National, so easy local. Very professional, clean, various atmosphere throughout, at different times of day. Very comfortable room& beds. & assistance with bags up the stairs. I will be back. I met many who only have come here many years!
Met my now fiance on the steps here during the 4th of July Parade. We are frequent visitors of Block and we never miss a stop back at the National. The food is actually overwhelmingly delicious and there is also talented live music consistently. I vote this as one of my favorite spots...anywhere, not just on Block.
The food was very good and we all liked our meals. You can't beat the view while dining on the porch! Highly recommend this place. Oh and the drinks were great too!
