Island Moped & Bike

Thankfully we got a refund cause we had to return our bikes after an hour. They recommended we take cruisers out around this super hilly island and then the gears were broken so the bikes couldn't make it up hill at all. There was blue painters tape on the handles which was sticky. There was a lot of rust, the seat cover was ripped, and one of the hand brakes didn't work. They also force you to rent a lock even if you brought your own. We saw several other people with the same bikes walking their bikes up hill. They obviously don't maintain their fleet or have items to rent that are appropriate for the terrain. And the helmets weren't sanitized so we chose to go without.nnUPDATE: look at the owners response and their response on other people's reviews. They just make excuses. And they absolutely did force us to rent a lock. So they are straight up lying to cover themselves. Shameful way to run a business.

The rental is conveniently located a minute walk from where the ferry drops you off. The staff was really nice, friendly and helpful. We did not have to wait a long time to get our bikes or return them.

Place is a little hectic but everyone was professional and courteous. Did not let one elderly member in our party rent after safety test which was the right call. Gave a full quick refund. Great mopeds!

I will NEVER rent from here again, completely disorganized we had to fill out our forms multiple times, the most disrespectful/rude workers from the ladies in the shed to the gentlemen helping you with your mopeds. I had never ridden alone before my response when asked if I had ever ridden alone by the man helping me “oh great”, then another employee was walking by with freezer pops and he asked me to wait a minute so he could have one!! I understand how busy you are, but when someone makes a reservation like my family did renting 4 mopeds from you, you should honor those people 1st instead of making us wait and giving the available mopeds to people who just walked up and didn’t have reservations; that is the point of making a reservation!

We love this place and rent from them every year! Thank you for being awesome! Dont listen to the other reviews that bash them... this is a great place to rent from!
