Gowanus Inn & Yard Hotel

I went to. Brooklyn Nets game. The hotel was I subway stop away. Easy commute from World Trade Center back to NJ. The morning coffee/tea is a joke. The bagel spot down the street is amazing. Having Dinosaur BBQ across the street was great for dinner. There was no hair/blow dryer so my lady friend had issues doing her hair. The half glass curtain in the shower still makes the bathroom floor as my height makes the water splash all over. I was a cute efficient room

I gave it 3 stars because the bathroom design is terrible. There is no shower door. There is a glass that covers about half of the shower so all the water falls into the floor and you're left with a puddle to try and step over if you have to use the toilet. The sink is not in the bathroom which isn't a problem. The problem is there is a shelf right above that doesn't allow you to bend over the sink to wash your face or brush your teeth so you end up spilling water on yourself. You can try putting your head under the shelf (which was uncomfortable for me and I'm only 5'3) but be careful not to bump your head. No refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. There is a small shared microwave on the bottom floor. They have irons if you need them by request I really liked the platform bed. It was comfortable and had a lot of storage built in. It's in a good spot with lots of restaurants all around. I wouldn't go back though just because of the bathroom design. I shouldn't have to jump over puddles from the shower to use the toilet.

I recently stayed at the Gowanus Inn & Yard Hotel this weekend. I would like to start by saying that the price for the rooms are very unreasonable. The pictures online are deceiving. The room is about the size of a closet and the bathroom can barley fit one person. The bathroom also didn't even supply hand soap to its customers. The T.V was about the size of a screen you get on an airplane to watch movies. The bed was very comfortable and the room was decently clean. The hotel at night was loud, so I recommend younger individuals to stay at this hotel. Parking was extremely hard to find. I drove around for over 30 minutes looking for a spot. The security deposit for the hotel was $100 on top of the already outrageous room prices. Nothing in the room is worth over $100 if something were to break something. Overall, if you are looking for a place to sleep and leave it fulfills its purpose however, I do not recommend staying here.

Cute little hotel based in industrial, hip Brooklyn. Rooms are cozy, clean, and modern. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend staying here simply for the fact that all our needs were met in order to feel safe and comfortable. An added bonus-there is so much to do nearby, including good eats!

My stay was incredible. The ladies at the front desk were so accommodating and helpful as were the housekeepers. Room was clean and beds are so comfortable. The location is unbeatable, close to anything you may need, laundromat, restaurants of all kinds, and so many unique shops on 5th Ave. The cost was great compared to other hotels in the area. Very charming, no frill boutique hotel. Will be returning!
