The Stone House Bed and Breakfast

We booked the BnB for tomorrow, Friday Oct 23rd to Sunday Oct 26th back in July because we know that October is prime tourism season in the Hudson Valley. Today is Thursday October 22nd and the owner just called me to tell me that he sold the property, the closing is this weekend and he has to cancel the reservation! THE DAY BEFORE WE WERE TO ARRIVE!! There is no way that back in July he didn’t know he was selling his house. There is definitely no way he didn’t know the closing date. Now, we are stuck because we have reservations and plans for the entire weekend in that area and now NO nice place to stay! If he called even a month ago we might have had a chance to book a nice bnb but nooooo Mr selfish decides to wait so that we get stuck. My Fall Birthday getaway that we both so needed, especially during the time of Covid, is ruined because this pathetic waste of air and space can’t be bothered to do his job correctly. Now we’ll be in a hotel looking over the highway instead of the beautiful leaves and vista’s. Instead of a Full breakfast we’re going to have a stale continental croissant. AND for the same price because, of course, the prices go up during the fall season, and, as the hotel receptionist said, I should have booked back in the summer to get the lower price. My head nearly exploded at that! We were the victims of a lazy piece of rubbish. His excuse or lack of an excuse is pathetic and lazy at best. No wonder they went out of business.

We had to cancel our stay as the event we were to attend in early July was cancelled due to the pandemic. We paid our deposit in Dec. 2019 for 1 of the 2 nights we had reserved. We are STILL waiting for our refund. I can't give an opinion on an actual stay but I am extremely disappointed in their customer service for refunds. I want my deposit returned!

A wonderful house full of soul, character and history that sits on a beautiful hill overlooking the river. You can go down the hill and see beavers sometimes ...Great place to rest! The breakfast is homie and fresh.

Excellent experience from the very moment we arrived. Sam was extremely helpful with showing us around his beautiful B&B, asked when we would like to enjoy breakfast in the morning and was very helpful in finding a place to have dinner that evening. Breakfast was excellent and very fresh (egg bake, homemade breads, coffee, OJ, etc). The entire place was very clean and inviting. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. We hope to return soon, however for a longer stay. Thanks!
