Hilton Garden Inn Rochester Downtown

Room was clean but furnishings had chips and breaks, could use some updates. No foul odors or weird stains. Front desk was pleasant, professional and friendly. Parking was was easy

Upon checking in the front desk staff told me that my debt card wouldn’t be accepted. After going back and forth for a short while & informing her that I’ve already purchased the room online& I’d only need to put a card on file in case of damages. I was charged the 250 smokers fee in order to check in. I’m young mixed male with face tattoos. The assumption that I’d be smoking in the room and charging me prior is a little sickening. The entire experience made me feel like awkward.nNice establishment, but she definitely ruined the welcoming energy you coming into a lobby with.nnI stayed in the Hilton across town in Henrietta & never once came across this issue.

Room was very nice I love the women that work the restaurant 3/26/21 at night the cook in the morning was nice the women working the morning breakfast was a little rude then change her attitude once our breakfast was done and handed to us she was nice then overall we had a nice time spending are 6 year anniversary.

Tanner was absolutely amazing! i love his hard work and effort. he was absolutely amazing and made sure everything i needed was provided.

There were a number of things I didn't really love about this place.nnPros:nThe front lobby was beautiful and the staff were professional.nnCons: The bathroom hardware looked like it was put together with the same screws I built my back deck with, there were cords just spread around haphazardly like from the fridge and microwave, there were what sounded like kids running around being loud until midnight, and the bed was not very well made. Also, there's no easy access from the parking garage to the hotel, you have to take your luggage out, back down an elevator, through the front door, and up another different elevator to your room. Just pretty inconvenient.nnFor a place to sleep while traveling through, it was just okay. But I've paid less for much better rooms - maybe this room was just expensive because it was downtown but I have no idea.nnOverall not awful , but if by some miracle I find myself back in Rochester I'll likely try another hotel.
