Winter Clove Inn

A wonderful place for family get togethers! I have been coming to Winter Clove with my family since 1966 and we are now on our third generation. We have made lasting friendships over the years with other regular patrons. The main house dates back to 1838 and is a wonderful step into the past. The grounds are beautiful with excellent hiking trails and there are several activities in the surrounding area like skiing, zip-lining, horseback riding, and apple picking. The staff is invariably friendly and accommodating, and they treat you like family. Our children grew up at Winter Clove and, now in their 20's, still look forward to our annual visits.

I contacted Winter Clove through their website to inquire about their wedding packages. I didn't hear anything back, so I sent another message. Months passed and I didn't hear anything back, so I then sent a direct email to their info@ email address. Again, weeks passed and they did not have the courtesy to reply. I thought maybe they were waiting it out because of covid 19 restrictions etc. and that is understandable ... Finally I sent a polite follow up email begging for a reply. I was sent an extremely short and cold reply that clearly showed they were not interested in working with us at all. They stated that there simply weren't any weekends available period, even though I expressed in more than one way that our date is extremely flexible... And it also rubbed me the wrong way that they didn't even congratulate us on the engagement, which literally every other venue Ive contacted has done, they just said a quick no after ignoring my messages for months and we wish you good luck. Other venues have been more eager to find a way to work with us.... I thought about pushing the wedding to next year, but based off of this interaction, not so sure I would enjoy my wedding there at all. As a hospitality business, I would expect a higher level of professionalism and courtesy when a customer is interested in spending thousands of dollars at your Inn!

My wife and I stayed and from the time you check in to the minute you check out, nothing but real nice hospitality. Rooms are very clean, food was excellent and all waitresses to all the help were outstanding. Make sure you say HELLO to Clover, the cat that just wanders and seems to own the hotel. A must stay

Amazing family friendly all inclusive heaven. Winter cove inn is by far the best family own place we stayed and keep going back every year. And the food is always so good yum. Highly recommended.

It's an old-style inn; from 1838 I believe. It doesn't have the amenities of a modern hotel/resort but that's fine!nIf you're here in the summer, the rooms have ac's. If you're here in the winter, the rooms have heaters. It was warm during the day but all we had to do was open the windows at night for a nice cool breeze.nThey've got an indoor and outdoor pool, grass-court volleyball court, tennis, basketball, even a playground. They even have a bowling alley; however it has been closed due to the present situation. Plenty of trails to walk and bike around the property as well as short drives to so e other ones; Kaaterskill Falls are not far away.nThe food has been a pleasant surprise too. Nice variety and if it's not on the menu, they've been good with substitutions. Wait staff has been friendly, polite, and helpful. We're looking forward to coming another time and see how they are in a different season!
