Great scenery, walking trails, and music. Very good mixed menu of German and American food. Ideal for family get away.

Their food is great and the beer was ice cold. It was a beautiful day put on the patio and a cool little duck came to say hi to us.

Ok so here's the deal. It is overpriced for sure. No coffee makers in the room or lobby. No microwaves no fridge. I had a small room so I can't speak to the bigger ones but small doesn't adequately cover it. Its basically akin to a medium size closet with beds shoved in. Nothing has been updated since 1960/1970. This is not an angry review just stating fact. If you do not like German food DO NOT EAT HERE. go to the town of Catskill 15 min away amazing food options. The breakfast was ok. Pancakes were mealy. As for the service. It's kind of all over the place I called ahead of time with questions twice. Both times the person was slightly abrasive not very warm. When we checked in the woman was pleasant enough. Waitress at breakfast was nice, attentive. But check out. I have never been at a bed and breakfast so I was not aware that you tip for a meal that was included. That was absolutely my fault. I have never been asked to or expected to tip a maid. Cleaning your own rooms is included in the overpriced cost of said room. That being said this woman full on shamed me, argued with me, more or less accused me of being stupid (not those words but that intent) for not being prepared with cash in 2020. She couldn't open her own ATM for me to rectify the situation so she continued to make me feel badly for not knowing bed and breakfast etiquette. I am not someone who doesn't tip when it is called for so I am mailing one to rectify that for the waitress (not the maid). But to berate a paying customer for making an innocent mistake? Or to berate a paying customer who hasn't destroyed your establishment or done something unforgivable is in no way ok. That all being said the surrounding area is beautiful and the waterfall hike is close and amazing. If all you are looking for is quiet and a place to sleep for the night in a very firm mattress it's perfectly adequate. If you want to enjoy your stay, with really nice accommodations or at the very least a working tv and Wi-Fi outside of the lobby do not stay here. There are a few other German places up the road they probably have better accommodations for the price . *edit as you can see the owner has responded in pretty much the manner I stated in my review. argumentative and outright lying. she did not offer to open the atm. I absolutely did not refuse to tip (if I was petty I could post my receipt from the night before. I actually tip far too much, the night before I tipped 4 dollars on a 4 dollar coffee in catskill WITH MY BANK CARD as I had no cash)I told the owner repeatedly I did not have any cash and wrote in this review that i would be mailing a tip. so her behavior on here should show you the type of person you are dealing with. especially since the rest of my review had nothing to do with this one altercation i will now say stay at here at your own risk depending on your day this woman could be sweet and accommodating or she could continue to ruin your day for making a simple mistake.

Nice little spot to go and have authentic German food and very good beer. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back.
