Lake Sunapee Vacation Rental

Jack's is a nice rental. We have rented at Sunapee for 10 years. This is a quality winter rental, full heated basement for skis, nice light and views. Exposed beams, first floor laundry and dish network rounds out the package. Jack is a warm host who made us feel welcome.

What a great August week. We juggled 2 cars to get my son and pregnant daughter in law, and 20-something daughter and two dogs up for the week, and this rental has all the space and bathrooms to keep everyone happy (and more with beds we didn’t use). We hiked up to Lake Solitude and Sunset Hill on two afternoons, both moderate climbs and worth it for the views and effort, and then took it easy next days on several other shorter walks, the Clark Overlook, Clark Pond, around Otter pond…something for every energy level. There’s a great wraparound deck for sunbathing and this was our morning gathering place for coffee and a view of the lake through the trees. Loved the great side yard, firepit and Adirondack chairs to play with the dogs and hang out after hiking. I regretted not bringing my canoe since Lake Sunapee access is right across the street, a very short walk to the waters edge. The three private bedrooms let me sleep-in while the younger among us got breakfast going in the modern eat-in kitchen, pots and pans, plates, cups, etc, The gas grill on the deck also made for an easy dinner a couple of nights. It was really convenient to bring our bikes straight into the lower level until needed. The living room is a very cozy cabin feel with Netflix and WiFi access on the videoscreen. House is located only a few minutes away from ice cream and the small beach in downtown Newbury. We really enjoyed an afternoon upper deck ferry ride cruise around the lake from Sunapee harbor. Kudos to our host Jack for having everything ready for our arrival. We’ll be back!
