Very classic, old school buildings. The beach is rough on your feet. Water is refreshing. People a genuine. Good at keeping distence due to covid19. Very nice scenery.

Beautiful old building. The service was good but a bit slow, especially in getting seated, even with a reservation. The seafood scampi was $28 and, from appearance, looked worth the price. Unfortunately, the shrimp and lobster were obviously frozen, which makes them very firm and flavorless. All in all, it was a pricey meal that looked good but lacked a bit in quality, especially relative to the price.

This is a quaint old Inn in the wilds of Maine .....We stumbled on this when looking for a stopover en route to Quebec! Location is spectacular , with a summer stock theater and excellent restaurant abutting the property. Staying here is like stepping back into time with sunrise over the lake your view in the morning. That said the innkeeper keeps this property very neat and clean but it does show its age. Victorian decor including classic shared baths in interesting colors lol! Don't expect air conditioning, no room TVs....some peeling wallpaper and paint are noticed . BUT do expect warm charm, a great innkeeper, a fantastic breakfast , beautiful grounds and location with breezes off the lake all at a very affordable rate. We paid $45 per person including breakfast and had three charming comfortable rooms at our disposal. Far better than the local hotels..even the 12 year old loved it! You can even rent one of two cottages on the property nightly or weekly with rustic pine logs and accents! Would recommend staying here and perhaps scheduling so that you can enjoy the theater and dinner next door. Did not get the chance to do the theater but the dinner at the restaurant was superb! If you must there is a marvelous Victorian parlor with TV but sitting out on the screen porch or lakeside Adirondack chairs is a far better experience.nnPS the innkeeper has been the owner for decades and would like to retire.....I hope this old Jewel survives....you could be the next Innkeeper of this property for $655,000...I looked it up!

Great history! Bed extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was great. Coffee weak and no 1/2 & 1/2 just milk.
