The gift shop is an annual stop for us when in the area spotting deer!

Very nice resort. Main lodge is well decorated and staff was very helpful giving directions. The pool was well staffed and maintained. The recreation center wasn't very helpful in giving directions regarding trailheads. Ski resort lift was very well run and they were knowledgeable about the trails. Mountain biking trails had a decent layout, fairly washed out, but this is hard to avoid. Nice experience.

My family and I wanted to go skiing and went to Canaan Valley due to it's affordability and location. We went with the ski and stay package that the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center offered. Considering the price of all other mountains and hotels, this felt like a steal.nnThe hotel is located about 7 minutes from Canaan Valley Ski Area. The hotel was very clean and modern looking. The rooms were comfy and having a refrigerator and microwave in the room were helpful to bring our own food.nnWe did take out at the Laurel Grill on a couple nights and the food was great. It was a quick call down from the room and it was ready relatively quickly. They call you back in your room when it is ready for pickup.nnMy daughters loved the swimming pool and ice skating they had available. The pool was doing its best to keep people socially distant by only allowing 13 people in there at a time. We made reservations for the time slots we wanted and it worked well.nnOverall, the hotel was much nicer than I anticipated, especially for the price. I look forward to going back there again in the future.

We just spent a few days in this amazing resort. We loved the Valley View King with Balcony room, complete with all the amenities that you would expect from a fine hotel. The room was spacious, and the view heavenly! We also enjoyed breakfast in the main dining room, which was big enough for us to split (the waitstaff was very accommodating with splitting our order). In fact, this was one of the best experiences I have had. I can't wait to return to Canaan Valley--it's now my home away from home!
