Holiday Inn Rocky Mount - I-95 at US 64

Doesn't deserve 1 star. They refused my room although it was reserved. Tried to get me to pay for two nights and I only wanted to sleep for about 4 hours. Desk guy said there was nothing he could do. Perhaps inexperienced, but there is always something that can be done. I was angry enough to stay awake for a drive all the way to Virginia before I pulled over at a rest stop for a nap. Wouldn't stay in this place if they paid me. Usually have good luck with Holiday Inn, but this guy needs some Dale Carnegie training to sharpen his problem solving skills.

Stayed on sunday 10 25 20. 5 stars because of William (front desk) he want above and beyond to make sure everything was to your approval and better. Clean rooms, good location. Thanks for making my stay enjoyable

The room itself was clean & the front desk staff was extremely courteous and made checking in a breeze. On one hand, the location is nice as it's tucked away from the main road, however, I found the area itself to be less than desirable with few food options right near the hotel. And aesthetically, the area and restaurants weren't the most eye appealing.nnMy biggest issue was the noise level. This was my third and final stay at a Holiday Inn over the course of two weeks as I traveled up and down the east coast to visit an ill family member. The first two hotels were the peaceful, comfortable pit stops I needed to break up my long drives. Unfortunately this location had to compete with hotels where I barely even knew there were people in the rooms next to or above me, and lets just say this location failed horribly in that department.nnFrom the moment I got to my room I could hear housekeeping vacuuming & cleaning the room next to me. To note, this was a room with a door separating me and my neighbors, which probably made the issue worse. But It wasn't until my neighbors finally checked in and starting blaring loud music, drinking, smoking and conversing loudly that I realized the noise level may be an issue at this hotel. I could also hear doors slamming outside & footsteps of every person that walked by my room which made it hard to relax.nnI ended up checking out a mere 4 hours after checking in as I was just exhausted and was down to my last leg of the drive and just wanted to get home into my own bed. I'm sure had I brought this to the attention of the staff they would have done anything in their power to make the situation right, but I just wanted to get home. It's no fault of theirs that the hotel walls don't block sound as well as others.nnOverall, clean hotel with a friendly staff, however I will probably search elsewhere for my hotel needs if I travel that way in the future as a light sleeper.

Very nice hotel. Quiet. Room was large and comfortable.. would like to stay here again next trip to Florida.

Mr. James and Miss Hilary are the Greatest! They give the best hospitality in the world. Clean rooms clean clean clean!!!! My home away from home.
