Lucille's Board Shack

Stayed here 3 weeks ago. This house was nasty and dated. There is black stuff coming out of the walls around the electrical outlets, we had to vacuum the whole house when we arrived. The floors are sticky and lots of dog hair everywhere. The couch in the living room is broken down, no support. Not a can opener in the house. We had to put baking soda on the carpet in the elevator it was so stinky. No screens on any of the sliding doors. The dryer hose must be stopped up, it took a couple of hours to dry a load of clothes. On the plus side our bed was very comfortable, the location of the house is great.

This home needs to be updated and needs some TLC. There is mold on the ceilings and the rooms smell awful. The bathroom toilet down stairs stayed clogged. The home needs to update the washer and dryer, fridge, carpet , beds, and more things through out the home. I really hope we don’t get sick from the mold through out the home. The only positive thing this home has to offer is the view of the ocean.

First, Lucille’s Board Shack deserves FIVE STARS!!!!! The owners and everyone who had a hand in the decor, design and layout of this cottage have my compliments and respect. Love your house, thank you for sharing it with us. We have rented cottages on Hatteras Island for over 40 years, this one is one of the best IOHO. Great price point as well.nWhat was not great and why only 4 stars was the reality folks Surf And Sound. Terrible job handling an A/C problem while we were there, didn’t keep us advised and generally inconvenienced and ignored us.nI hope the owners find a different realtor, we would definitely like to rent this cottage again but not from Surf and Sound.
