Wingate by Wyndham Southport

Less than expected. Sure the lobby is being renovated. Dusty floors feel slick. The rooms need some help too. Hard to find guide on TV. Loose faucets. Long wait for hot water. Strange flush toilet. One lamp needs tightening (leans). Face cloth with a hole. Hand towel for a bath mat. Short shower curtain allows water on floor. Wall seams starting to show. Bathroom vent needs cleaned. All in all, I did sleep (a plus) in a clean room.

Hot tub out of order - known issue no sign or notification. Pool area not clean. Woke up with back pain from beds. Multiple people coming in without “required” mask and front desk would greet them and not have them put on masks in public areas. Would not recommend unless management does something about issues. Breakfast lady super nice.

The building is currently undergoing renovation (I understand messes come with renovating, however...) but to have sawdust in my room and missing furniture, I'd still expect more than that as a paying guest! Disappointing to say the least and not sure I'll stay here again when I'm back in the area, even after everything is complete.

It is supposedly in the process of being remodeled. That is a good thing. This hotel is not horribly old but has not aged well. Average.

Great stay. Clean rooms. Great workers. Easy going place.
