Secluded doesn't even do it justice. BUT, that's a good thing. While we didn't stay there, we did take the tour of the house. Andrew, the tour guide, did an excellent job and I certain think its good to commend him for it.nnDuring our time there, the place was decked out for Christmas and so it was nice just to see people's different creativity and how over the top, some of the rooms were.nnI can't wait to go back there for a night.
This beautiful old plantation house is extraordinary and so much to see. Each room has historic artifacts and will keep your attention throughout the stay. But a lot of the charm comes from the staff/manager. She is a delightful historian superseding all expectations! The menu is solely hers as well and is exquisite! Her heart is in this house and they are welcoming. The views from the grounds are simply beautiful and peaceful. I strongly recommend this stay!
Our second visit in 6 months. Love this place. Suggest you stay at least 2 nights and be sure to have dinner too. Our new favorite get away...from everything.
We did the paranormal sleepover investigation. I will start off stating the staff/owners are great people. Very friendly and you are treated like the plantation was there for you. The investigation is well worth the money we paid. Fredericksburg Paranormal Research and Investigations were 150 percent professional, friendly and dedicated to making your experience the best it could be. I would recommend Belle Grove to anyone wanting a peaceful vacation or looking to get in contact with the spirits who roam the halls and land. The only thing that upset me was a rumor that the overseers house might be turned into a gift store. Please do not do that. Open the overseers house to people wanting to experience paranormal activity. Let us book the house or book it to those with larger families looking for a more private vacation. Any shed can be used as a gift shop, my opinion make more money advertising book your own haunted house experience.
I could not recommend this B&B highly enough. My wife and I visited and just fell in love with it. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful rooms, outstanding food, and a wonderful staff. The grounds are large enough to wander around with great views of the Rappahannock River and abundant wildlife. We stayed in the Madison room which was great, but it was also nice to be able to comfortably wander through the house and take advantage of the many common areas to relax, read, or browse the extensive book collection. We especially enjoyed the upstairs porch overlooking the river. Simply outstanding, and we've already planned a return trip. Thank you Brett and Michelle for a wonderful time!
