The Stardust Motel Wallace

Me and my friends were stopping in Wallace for the day because my friends dad grew up here and she wanted to show us what it was like. We decided to stay the night and we didn’t want to stay at Stardust motel because of the past experiences she has had here with the management. She said it was messy, sticky and the people were rude. When we pulled in we seen the housekeeper, she looked sketchy but we decided to stay anyways- because anything is better than staying in the car, right? We walked in the front office and a lady, Mandy I think her name was? Was super polite and helped me with getting a room, it was quick and easy and a very reasonable price. Mandy might be the housekeeper because she was cleaning as well, either way she was amazing. It changed our whole perspective on the management and the up keeping on the place. My room was clean, smelled good and I was helped with anything I needed. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you Mandy!! You’re awesome!

I was traveling west across the country and noticed Wallace, Idaho from the highway and I couldn't resist stopping. The town had so much charm! I booked a room at a different hotel while eating at a local shop, but it turned out when we checked in that the room had been double booked! Frustrated, I walked over to the Stardust and told my story to the attendant, Joey. He hooked me up with a great room at a better price on the spot! The room was super cute with vintage features and very clean and comfortable in a great location. We'd stop again for sure! Thanks Joey!

My brother left a couple of clothes in our room and when we called to see it they had it in the lost and found they said they never found any clothes, even though it was hanging on the bathroom shower curtain rod. We asked to see if we can search the room we used and he said someone is already using it. The guy at the front desk seemed uninterested and unwilling to help us. Rooms were outdated and were nothing like they were perceived in the pictures. The sink makes a really loud pipe sound when turned on. It was also difficult to contact them if you had any questions or help. Their system goes automatically to voicemail and you have to call at least 6 times before someone picks up. We booked 2 rooms for our family and for the price that we paid we were honestly so disappointed. Only upside was it was in the middle of an awesome location and very pet friendly.

If I could give it a zero I would. This place did not match the pictures. It was HORRIBLE! The bed was sunk in the middle. The water was leaking in the bathroom. The smell of must and old that hit you in the face when you opened the door. There was no outlet in the bathroom to plug anything into. The locking chain on the door was broken. Would not recommend or stay here again! It’s a dump!

We booked here based on pic of room & that it had been remodeled to a retro theme. You can't check in before 4pm and they mean 4pm. Office door is locked until then. We were told there was a problem with our room & in fact, all downstairs rooms had a problem. They said we would be upgraded to a King room. Unfortunately the room was old looking, dresser drawers stuck, no plug outlets except behind the TV. No blow dryer, no TV remote, and NO outlet in bathroom so you couldn't plug in blow dryer or curling iron. There was a plug outlet near the ceiling by the bed. The TV is on the dresser in front of a mirror. It took 3 times to get the right TV remote. The office handed me a box with a blow dryer in it. Lights were low wattage so hard to see. Table felt sticky. No room number on door so we had to count out the doors to find our room. Hot & Cold backwards in shower. Staff was nice. I guess you get what you paid for. We won't be back.
