Very cozy and down home. Good meals, simple but just right. Great location to access nearby recreation areas. Very nice people. A lot of folks brought their own food. There's a great kitchen and also an outside grill. Highly recommend.

Wow! Five stars are not adequate for the great time that we had with Kathy and Randy. The work they are doing on the old school house is really terrific. Overlooking the St. Joe River is one of the most beautiful settings I’ve ever seen. Kathy’s breakfasts are to die for. We hope to be able to come back soon. PS. Charlie (the dog) is wonderful!

Rooms are spacious. The bathrooms are like you’re staying at the Davenport Grand. Hosts were excellent. Their dog Charlie is the most outgoing friendly dog. The breakfast was incredible. Eggs ordered how you like them, hash, toast with butter and local huckleberry jam, carafe of coffee, orange juice, fruit and yogurt. Definitely filled us up for our day of fishing.

This is an excellent place to stay. Owners are extremely accommodating and understanding of the area. I stayed here with my husband for our second anniversary, we went on a spare the moment type thing and searched everywhere before Kathy emailed quickly back letting us know they were available during the pandemic. We stayed a week and got to explore everything Avery had to offer. If you have a off road vehicle check out Dizmol lake it’s something out of a story book you could say. Also the Bottom of the Hiawatha is 9 miles up the road so if you have your own bikes and a vehicle to haul check it out!! We will be back but hopefully with more friends and family!! Absolutely recommend staying here . Room was clean , big , cozy . We were treated like family . Made us and our kids feel at home . Breakfast by them was yummy and even made something my husband likes cause he doesn’t care for eggs lol . Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely going back !! But next time without our kids. Grown up trip next time .
