River Lodge

When we arrived, no one was there to check us in. No one was in the office and we could not get hold of anyone by phone and had to wait for an hour before we could get into our cabin. We were not informed of the small amount of hot water available or the changes to housekeeping services due to covid-19. We couldn't empty our own trash because the dumpster was locked. The manager was less than helpful. Even after speaking with the owner we were very dissatisfied. The customer service was nonexistent. For the price we paid for a very small cabin, we expected more. We will never stay with them again. I will tell anyone who asks to find somewhere else. I would really prefer to give them 0 stars, but my comments won't post without at least 1 star.

While riding the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, we made a reservation at the River Lodge, mistakenly thinking that we were making a reservation at Mack’s Inn. When we discovered our error, about two hours later, we didn’t have enough daylight (or the energy) to ride another 12 miles to the River Lodge, so we requested a refund. They denied it. They had had the reservation for two hours, and they weren’t full, so they would have been exactly where they were two hours earlier if they had refunded our money. Keep this in mind.

There should be zero stars for this experience.nThe room was advertised as 2 queen beds. The beds were full size and the attendant told me that they thought it was okay to falsely advertise since it is only a 2 inch difference.nThe TV didn't work and the manager came but didn't know how to work it either.nWe were told that there was internet in the cabins. Not true. We had to use internet in our car outside the office.nThere was no on in the office for most of the weekend.nDon't stay here. Not worth it.

Off the beaten path for sure! There is only a gas station and one restaurant nearby and the road is quite busy. We didn't have air condition which was fine because the Temps were perfect. However I did also notice there was no heat. It was very clean, had a huge TV, but the room was very small. Having an outdoor grill, seating area etc would have this place even better. Be sure to try the Trouthunter restaurant across the street. It was amazing and the staff was great!

We stayed in the lodge rooms, not the cabins, so maybe they would be better. Walls, ceilings, and windows are extremely thin. We can hear every footstep and door shut of every guest above, to the side, and outside. The floors creak very loudly. We could hear the pipes, too. You can hear every shower and flush of every guest nearby. The plus side is the room was clean, small, but had what we needed.
