Holiday Inn Express South Lake Tahoe

Great hotel value. Staff (Jessica in particular) was awesome. Clean room, very attractive location. For those who don’t mind walking a little bit, the walk to/from the Heavenly Village Gondola is very doable if physically fit, even while carrying your skis and walking in ski boots. I did it and it wasn’t bad. Overall, I had no complaints with my stay.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Checked in after midnight on Saturday and checked out around noon the same day. So we had the room for about 12 hours. Room was okay. We only needed it for sleeping. After we left the property, we went to get brunch which was about 2 traffic lights from the property. As we pulled up to the attendant at a public parking lot, my husband realized that he didn’t have his wallet so I paid. He was trying to remember when he last had it, thinking maybe he left it at home. We got home a little before 7pm. We unloaded the truck and started looking for his wallet in the truck thinking maybe it might have fell in the cracks somewhere. Nothing. We searched the house. Went through the suitcases and bags we unloaded. Still nothing. We wanted to made sure we double checked everything before I called the hotel. I called around 7:30pm asking if anyone turned in a wallet. Brenda asked me to call back the next morning after 8am since housekeeping was gone for the day. Today I called around 8:30am to ask about the missing wallet, Marissa told me they will call me back once they get in touch with housekeeping. 3.5 hours later I called back since I haven’t heard back from them. Called around noon and Marissa said that housekeeping didn’t find anything. So she went on to say that she’ll check the lost/found and she’ll call me back in 5 minutes once she checks. 30 minutes passed and she hasn’t called back. Here I go calling them again. Marissa picked up again telling me that she didn’t find anything. I was explaining to her that the wallet had to be somewhere in the room that we stayed in because we double checked and backtracked my husband’s footsteps to locate his wallet but nothing came up. As I was explaining that to her, she HUNG up on me which makes me think that they did find the wallet but obviously didn’t want to return it. My husband had over $700 in his wallet along with his ID and other various cards. Needless to say, we will NOT be staying at this property again as the workers are not honest and trustworthy. We don’t care so much about the cash but wanted his ID and cards back since they will be time consuming to replace.

I got this place on expedia because it was a last min purchase and they had bunch of availability. Came here total of 4 people getting two rooms. From the first moment we stepped in to the lobby, one of the staff members ended up talking to us in a very aggressive way refusing to provide us with any service. The same lady ended up serving the breakfast and her demeanor was completely unacceptable as if she was doing us favors by giving breakfast to-go bags. We kindly told her that one of the members was in the car so we wanted to take one of the to-go bags and she refused saying she won’t give it. We had to tell her multiple times to convince her (she saw us the first day) and eventually she handed us the bag. When she was giving me the breakfast options she was not being clear so when I asked her to clarify something she just stared at me saying “THAT’S WHAT I AM TELLING YOU!”. I decided to talk to the front desk about it and see if I can get a manager to discuss the case. When I tried to talk to the front desk, she came closer to the staff member and started talking to her in Spanish. I didn't understand a thing they said. The staff member tried to translate what she was saying but she was talking to us in English. I didn’t even understand what she was saying about us. She accused us of yelling at her even though all we said was “we don’t like your behavior toward us”. The front desk member was on her side and when I tried to get the lady’s name to talk in more details with the manager, she hesitated. She did not want to provide me with her name. She was being protected regardless of her unfair treatment to us. I am a woman with headscarf, and the way that lady treated other customers were completely different than how she treated me and my family members who were with me. This was the most horrible hotel experience I had. Never coming here again. They really need to pick the people who are representing them more carefully. There should not be any tolerance towards discrimination.

Great place. visit mammoth Tons of shops near by. Need more parking. Bonanza show hay ride at incline.

Easy check in. Couldn't figure the fireplace out. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. If wife likes it then we're a go
