Super 8 by Wyndham Gallup

From the reviews we were concerned since some were very bad. However, some were also very good and we decided to go ahead and book the room. We had been driving for a day and needed a nice, clean, safe, place to rest with the family so I booked it online during our drive. However, when we went to check in we were immediately hit with the smell. Hoping it was just the lobby, we went ahead and went to our non-smoking room. Again, we were hit with the smell. It seems the whole hotel, whether non-smoking or not, smells like cigarette smoke. On top of that, we had booked a room with 2 queen beds and a king for the 6 of us and they gave us a room with 2 double beds. The reviews that state that it is loud due to the location next to the train tracks are not an exaggeration. There is constant train noise, so if you are a light sleeper, this is definitely not the right hotel. We will never stay at this hotel again.

It's worth the decency. Female owner is fairly nice. It's was always open no matter what. Only downside is the noise from the trains across the way.

I feel bad for posting this bad review because the owner was friendly BUT... I booked this hotel after reading just one “5 star” review, I was in a rush so I did not read any more (the one 5 star review must be family). I’m not super fancy and I’m comfortable in standard hotels with old fashioned decor, but this place should be condemned - and I’m not exaggerating. Stains on the furniture, baseboards peeling, dust everywhere, cigarette burns in the blankets, water stains on the ceilings, and stains in the tub with black stuff on the grout. Stains on walls. Bathroom tap constantly dripped. Bathroom fan was loud like an old propellor plane coming down for a landing. They do not wash bed spread, even though we are in the midst of a pandemic. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s one step up from sleeping on the street.

Myself, daughter & grandson were traveling thru town & needed a bed to sleep & rest up in. The Manager was fantastic, the room was clean, quiet & we got the good rest that we needed. And did I mention the manager was awesome?! I recommend this motel if u need a rest & not a soul will bother You, come here.

Drove in at 5:00 this morning... With no notice they were able to accommodate us. Very gracious very professional. I recommend it ud83dude01
