Days Inn by Wyndham Gallup

A bargain-level hotel, clean, with a helpful front desk staff. I had to change rooms upon discovering that the heater sounded like a barber's electric trimmer and was way too noisy. Funny, the nice lady at the desk put me in the back-most section of the hotel and I thought she had made a nice choice since it was furthest from the highway, too. The heater was fine, however I was amazed that she booked someone immediately next door to me when there was plenty enough space to skip a room in between to eliminate sounds from the common wall.nnThe neighbors had kids who were throwing firecrackers outside, in front of their room, at 11pm. I opened the door and told them to be quiet and fortunatley they did or i would have been changing rooms a second time.nnFront desk staff: it must be a hidden art that has never been taught to you, but when the hotel is not very busy, space the guests in rooms with an empty room in between. You'll get more compliments, repeat business, and better Google and Trip Advisor reviews because your customers won't have noise issues from neighboring rooms.

For the price of the room it is excellent and as up to date as to be expected for the price you're paying. Everything was clean and avail to use fridge, micro, coffee pot, tv, hot water, etc. Clean bed, although the bedspread was torn and dated (could be fixed by using the 3 sheet system and blanket instead - classier look too). Overall i don't see why people post such bad reviews- for shame! You're spending dollars and expect what?... the plaza hotel?... be happy with clean, functional, friendly and quick check in process. A good budget option. Friendly and helpful staff. Ask to stay on the backside of the hotel, away from the tracks. I had no problem there with train noise interfering with sleep.

Room was gross. There was blood on the wall heater rooms look like they walked out of the 70s and haven't been touched.nThe front desk lady was kinda rude. There was some sketchy dudes just chilling in the stairwells and in the parking lot.nThe heater didn't work. We had a 7 day reservation and didn't stay one night.nWould not recommend.

To be fair, it was an emergency stop due to weather. That said it is not a good representation of or for the Wyndham brand. I would not take my family here. On a positive note the front desk staff (may have been the owners) were great
