Norwegian Wood Retreat, LLC

Wow. Deb was the best host. Her retreat is very clean and recently updated. Well appointed kitchen (as we rented the entire place for the weekend). Although we were there in winter, this would also be a great place for summer too. The screened porch would be wonderful in more temperate weather. Beds are super comfy. the studio space is well lit and sunny. I am already planning the next trip.

I feel bad even writing this, because our trip was wonderful up until after we left the retreat. But wanted to share because of the stress the host caused on me and my fiancé. My brother decided to have his wedding at this retreat, with us and another couple (who was also officiating). We loved the home and the wedding reception was perfect and small just how they wanted it. We loved that there were robes we could use to take out to the sauna on a cold December night. The morning after, we cleaned up the place and left a bottle of mead as a gift for our stay there. The next day I received a message that one of the robes had blood on it and appeared like something was “beheaded.” We had no clue what this was from, but apologized, offered to compensate her for the robe, and suggested it was perhaps wood or rust from the sauna outside. The host, Deb, insisted it was blood on the robe and accused us of beheading something (weird, I know). We again apologized and said it was possible someone might have got cut and wasn’t aware. She responded asking us to repay her for the robe in cash. Feeling terrible, we drove back up to the retreat (from Mpls) and she showed us the robe where we found a very faint spot that looked washed out. Both of us just wanted to move on from with this situation as soon as possible and gave her the $100 in cash and left. Again, the stay itself was beautiful, but the host was extremely unprofessional and rude about the situation. If you choose to stay here, please be careful with anything you touch or use.

Deb was a wonderful host to our girls group! Delicious meals, clean and comfortable accommodations. She spoiled us all weekend. We will be back next March!

Very nice retreat place!

House is lovely. Amazing screen patio let's you relax and hear all the birds and wildlife without being eaten by mosquitoes​.
