Fairly slow to be acknowledged. I understand they were busy. Then I was offered to add new pedals on in shop without mentioning I would be charged $15 extra for something I could do at home after buying the product in the shop.

Tom was SO great! He helped us ‘first time’ electric bike enthusiasts with education about the electric bike differences. It was SO helpful. Yep! Soon to be electric bike owners! Can’t wait!

Great info learning about bikes or learning what we didn’t like about bikes. Not a sales pitch but fully informational and allowed space now and again to talk before asking more questions or going for test rides.nnSad about inventory - hard to get bikes but luckily we fell in love with one in stock :)

When we first went into the store, the employee at the front was on the phone, didn’t acknowledge us, so I decided to start looking around the store for another employee. I didn’t find anyone, then decided to look at kid bikes on my own. I saw another employee back at the service desk who might have seen me looking around but also did not acknowledge me as I was six feet away. After a few more minutes, I finally went over to the service desk to ask if there was someone available to help. He then said he was (which if he saw someone six feet away with a four year old, wouldn’t you greet and ask if they’d been helped?) I explained that I was looking for a first bike for my daughter. He led us over to kid bikes, and he had my daughter sit in the first one. He wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about helping or bothering to ask questions like, what I’m looking for, etc. I’m not a bike person at all, but I had done my research a bit and fortunately the only bike he showed us was one I had read about. If I had been totally clueless, I think the experience would have been more frustrating. Admittedly I was tired and didn’t want to drag my kid (who was tired from school) to another shop, so we just bought the bike.nnThe employee at the front was finally off the phone and acknowledged me once I was in front of him paying for the bike. The unenthusiastic employee from service told us it would be ready by end of the day.nnI didn’t get a text until the next day that it was ready. Honestly I didn’t expect it to be ready in 6 hrs given that the weather is getting warmer, and lots of people are probably bringing in/buying bikes, so not sure why he’d promise such a fast turn around.nnWhen we came in the second time, everyone was extremely friendly and was wanting to make sure I was helped. It was around the same time of day (1 pm ish) as the first visit. The employee back in service was a lot friendlier and proactive and seemed to enjoy his job. The employee at the front seemed a lot more enthusiastic on this day (I can’t recall if it was the same one). Was it because I already bought the bike? Or I had caught the store on an off day previously. Not sure.nnThe whole experience affirmed my gut feeling when I read mixed reviews on Erik’s. I had chosen the Minnetonka location bc of their plentiful stock on kid’s bikes and mostly good reviews. But I wasn’t overly impressed and found the whole experience underwhelming.nnI’ll probably go shopping for my bike at a small shop, as I don’t feel particularly inclined to go back. It was kind of like bike shopping at Target with nicer bikes. Except I find Target employees to be a lot more enthusiastic and helpful.
