This is hands down the best bike shop around! I've been here multiple times, and will keep coming back as long as I live in the area. You can easily tell the difference between someone WORKING at their job, and someone LIVING their passion.

Met John when he first opened the business. Always helpful. He gave my handicapped neice’s bike loving care every time she rode by the shop. When my beloved second-hand Mackinac Island fleet bike finally became too expensive to repair, I had my new bike shipped directly to him for assembly. If he sold new bikes, I would have bought from him.nnI may not see him from one year to the next but it’s nice to know there is a “bike guy” I can rely on for help when I need it.

Awesome service! I was in town camping and my wifes bike had a low tire.. We went to put air in and it would not hold. I called Alpine Bicycle and he told me to bring it in and he would fix it immediately.. I dropped bike off, went to get gas and came back to a bike ready to go to Mackinaw Island for two day. stay.. Its great to receive good old fashioned customer service. Thank you

**UPDATE**nI needed a 21 speed chain replaced, and he's the only place in town that had one! I got home and couldn't get the chain off, I ran the bike down to John hoping he could just remove the chain for me, he came out helped get the bike out of my car and he took the chain off and put the new one on in not even 5 minutes, then helped me get it back in the car. I know he was super busy and I so appreciated the fact he was so kind, generous and helpful. A great local business with a hardworking owner, everyone should come here for any bike issues!nnNeeded a replacement part for my bike, I looked all over town and then found Alpine Bicyle shop. He had the part I needed at a great price and was very kind and helpful with other questions I had. I will definitely be coming here for any bike needs!
