Went to REI for the first time in order to purchase hiking boots and socks for an upcoming hiking trip. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They suggested boots based on my arch support and guided me in the direction of finding boots I love! Staff was also awesome in explaining difference in sock types. Highly recommend!!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly young man sitting in a camp chair with a blanket covering his lap. I love that REI cares enough to let this employee be comfort while he did his job. He politely reminded us to keep our masks in place jus trike they were. As we browsed the store we were approached by several helpful staff offering help. To finish off the experience, a gentlemen (Todd?)explained the finer points of an inflatable paddle board to me. He was more knowledgeable about this Product than many car sales men are about their product.

I was looking for a hiking back packs and didn’t have much prior knowledge on them. Micheal helped me through the entire process. He was very informative and nice. I got a great bag and a lot more knowledge leaving the store. Thank you Micheal!

I haven't been to many places due to the lack of enforcement of safety precautions but they take everything seriously. Friendly and knowledgeable staff like usual and good prices on high quality gear.

The store is great. There are great choices, some helpful associates. I walked in with the intention of buying my husband a winter coat. We both happen to African-Americans (me being bi-racial.) There was some unease due to being watched constantly. There was one gentleman who went out of his way to help us. I mean genuinely help us. But everyone else was doing what most people do when they see African-Americans, watch really hard. We ended up buying our toddler a winter coat but not my husband. Not because we didn't have the money but because my husband wants something that we can say we spent our money well and wisely. My husband is very indecisive. The question is, is that where we will buy if from seeing as how we are clearly not welcomed there. We work hard for our money and the right to spend it where we choose. I don't want to be uncomfortably shopping and then spend 4 or $500 when they suspect we are there to steal it.
