Port City Bikes

We bought a Schwinn bike for my husband on March 24 at Port City Bikes. The owners were friendly and very helpful. They gave us options to choose among and selected bikes based on my husband's height so that the bike would be a comfortable fit. It was a great experience. We recommend them highly and will use them again without hesitation.

This is what bike shops should look like in a post-capitalist society! The service is useful, honest, and lacks pretension. I will go out of my way to a shop where I can actually have a normal human interaction with the person working there.

Even though I didn't find a bike at this store, the owner was still willing to tell me about other stores in the area and even gave me a tip about volunteering for the Great Maine Bike Swap to get a first look at the bikes there. As a result, I was able to get a great deal on a used road bike!nnThe store is somewhat small, but they seem to have everything that you could want packed into it. It makes for a cozy, welcoming atmosphere for anyone interested in bicycles.
