Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Southland-Matteson

This is my first EVER experiencing a Hampton Inn that did not rate 5 stars! As I am a Hilton Honors members, I've always expected...and experienced ONLY the best from the Hilton brand! This hotel in Matteson, IL did NOT measure up to my expectations at all! The Front Desk agent was the beginning problem ...the room itself was the OTHER problem!Oh well, I guess 1 bad out of 10 isn't too bad! I certainly will not consider staying at this hotel again if I ever need a room in that area. Sorry. This was NOT the HILTON standard.

The first night was fantastic. The second night went downhill from there. Big picture, I know the hotel doesn't have control over guests, but hearing rowdy people screaming MF all night and my 4 kids listening to it through the walls was less than optimal.

COVID-19 restrictions followed 100%. Only issue that we encountered was our door was constantly malfunctioning and staff had to manually open our door EVERY time... not cool when it's late and everyone is dead tired.nnThe to-go breakfast was convenient and smart idea. I appreciated the thoughtfulness.

What an experience we had in Chicago. Staying at the Hampton Inn was so nice except for the one thing that truly irritated me. When I asked the front desk clerk for “earplugs” on Sunday, March 21 around 8:30 pm, I was told that the hotel does not carry them. The lady at the front desk rudely introduced herself  as the manager, even thou I did not ask. I calmly informed her that this can’t be right because the overnight front desk clerk gave me earplugs when my husband and I worked out at 6:00 am earlier that day in the hotel’s exercise room. The way she said that Hampton Inn doesn’t carry earplugs was very disrespectful. I misplaced the earplugs that I received earlier on Sunday morning from the overnight front desk clerk and that’s why I asked again that evening.  A manager should certainly know the inventory of the hotel she is managing. Her mannerism was so unprofessional and intimidating as she sarcastically told me twice WE don’t have earplugs. The following Monday, March 22, right around 6:00 am before my husband and I worked out in the exercise room, I asked the overnight front desk clerk for earplugs and she kindly gave them to me. Later we found out that the overnight front desk clerk’s name is Latavia. I also found out that the manager who lied to me is Arnette. Instead of her displaying a nice disposition by saying “I don’t know if we have earplugs”but let me double check and I will get back with you,” she totally misrepresented the proper etiquette a manager should demonstrate. What a horrible experience! Everyone else was so nice, cordial and professional but the “manager” Arnette not knowing about earplugs... that Hampton Inn surely carries was the only experience I encountered during our stay at the Hampton Inn. That should have never happened and hopefully no other guests will have to experience what I did!n◦

Hot water keeps turning cold phone doesn't work heat not best. Called down to report and noone came to check on it
