Radisson Hotel Ames Conference Center At ISU

First of all you couldn't get your room cleaned unless you requested it so trash was built up, it was terribly difficult to get clean towels, there was no complimentary breakfast offered and no one at the front desk numerous times I went for assistance. For the amount of money charged per night, even with a supposed discount for the block of rooms we reserved, they really didn't provide a good service to any of us. The employees were polite and helped when they were around, but really they overcharged for what they offered. I will never stay again if I can help it and never recommend the hotel to anyone. I will say it was a clean hotel.

Never again will I stay here. The staff was so disrespectful I was very disappointed, I thought for my sisters birthday we would come here and enjoy the weekend. The noise here is horrible there were children running around the hotel you could here from anywhere. The staff treated us like we were unwelcome. And not to mention one of the workers and her daughter were smoking illegal marijuana in the stairwell of the hotel, and they were getting complaints about it when it was the staff! I have never been more unpleased by a hotel in my life!!! And no promises on the pool either, we were told we were allowed to go into to the pool and when we got there we got yelled at by a worker, so disappointed!! The hotel also has a horrible cigarette smell, I mean awful! We also had a couple screaming at each other downtown the hall from our room and they slammed doors and had everyone wondering what the hell was going on.nI wouldn’t advise going here save the trip.

Stopped for the night.. the lobby is pretty and the beds are soft. Pillows and blankets are awesome. Soft and heavy. The best part, there isn't annoying parking lot lights that shine in your window!

Spotless rooms, excellent staff. Good pool for the kids.

when we first checked in, we were provided with an accessible room. We thought that was fine maybe all the other normal rooms are taken hence the accessible room. Saw bedsheet a little crumbled, disposable cups not wrapped in plastic (which they were in the third room that we're assigned to). Because of the limited space, we were eating on the bed, smelled something funky, was thinking might just be the food. After done eating and showering, we were ready to get into bed. We saw a yellow stain on the bedsheet covered underneath the comforter. We touched it to figure what it was actually urine on the bedsheet! We felt extremely disgusted! We packed up and went to the front desk to ask for a different room and a full refund. He didn't apologize and gave us another accessible room. We're traumatized so asked for a standard room. Apparently, they had standard rooms available! He told us to talk to Expedia for the refund since this was a third-party booking. I chatted online with them and being told it would be taken care of. But later didn’t see the refund posted, so contacted Expedia but they told me to call the hotel personally for an authorization for the refund. We wondered why because the last time we interacted with the receptionist he agreed to give full refund. We then called the hotel GM but she was only willing to issue 50% refund because we were eating and staying in the room for 3 hours before addressing the issue to the front desk guy. I explained because the first thing we did was just to eat then shower first. But she was denying it and making speculation of us causing the dirty on the bed. So I rejected her offer for a 50% refund. Then she called back a second time to ask, if I was intoxicated? I was so confused and puzzled of why she would’ve asked that. But I replied firmly and strongly with a NO. She then said she wants to make this right and offered a free night stay for the next time we ever visit Ames again, instead of a full refund. I rejected her offer once again, because I really don’t feel comfortable stepping into the same hotel ever again. After sending multiple complaints via emails and calls to the corporate and Expedia, we ended up getting a refund issued from Expedia actually, but not the hotel! Only till then, the GM said the hotel will refund, but Expedia already did. All in all, I was extremely disappointed with the way the staffs were handling terrible cleanliness and hygiene problems, which first of all, should be the #1 basics guaranteed by a hotel, even more importantly, under this current health climate. This was the second time we stayed with them, because we had a good experience the first time, but would never be coming back again.
