30+ Years of Satisfaction - that is what I've received from Kilgore Express Pharmacy in Gurley, Alabama. I am on first-name basis with most of the staff, especially Alphreda (aka Freda), who is one of the most compassionate and caring people I know. She even has made a wonderful home for some orphan cats that were hanging out around the pharmacy. The cats' home, food and water bowls are on the porch on the walk-up into the pharmacy. Be sure to pat them on the head as you go inside. The pharmacist and the entire staff are very knowledgeable and offer any assistance almost before you know you need it. They stock most medication that a chain-type pharmacy stocks - if they don't have it, they will have it the next day. Another reason I love this place is because unlike a chain-type pharmacy, they carry peripheral things that small-town country people like and need - not a bunch of make-up, groceries, toys, As Seen on TV items, and other stuff that just drains one's bank account. They do, however, have a very good selection of greeting cards, a small selection of local arts and crafts, a fair selection general purpose off-the-shelf remedies, vitamins, pain relievers, and some surprise goodies. You just have to visit to see for yourself.
