Great price.... this is the kind of place you'd expect to pay double the price...nIt's a state and National historical land mark...nnThe rooms have period furniture.nVery cozy to say the least. Very quiet.nnYou'd think you was in civil war era... except for modern conveniencesnBeds are very comfortable.nnStaff are super friendly.nnI would say come visit it yourself.nnGod bless this place

We stayed in the two room suite upstairs with our three girls. Our stay was great! The beds were very comfortable, the shower was nice and hot, and the breakfast was delicious. The innkeeper was very polite and even gave us a little tour and some history of the place. I enjoyed hearing some of the history. I definitely recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone looking for a nice and quiet place to rest in the area.

This is a lovely place, comfortable and quiet. It's filled with antique furniture making one feel like he stepped back in time.

Rose House Inn is a small town B & B in rural Alabama. The owner is a very nice lady who is knowledgeable about the local history including the house. My traveling companion and I stayed in room 2, which is in the rear of the house on the first floor across from the breakfast area. Despite this proximity, we heard very little noise from other guests and were able to get a decent night's sleep. Both evenings, it is apparent that the A/C was left on and not switched to heat as we struggled to get comfortable and warm enough to go to sleep both nights. However, the beds are comfortable and allowed for quality sleep once we put on more clothes to combat being cold. We liked that there was a basket of full-size toiletries to use if we wanted to in the bathroom and that checking in was easy despite there being no front desk or staff on hand at all times. I enjoyed looking at the antiques in the home and the photo albums about the house and grounds. Some of the wedding photos are beautiful. The breakfast offerings are made by the owner each morning and kept in warming dishes from about 7-9 am. Most of the foods contain dairy products and there were no tented cards with ingredients in front or anything else to indicate what things were, so I avoided guesswork and only ate what I could identify. Sausage and cheese biscuits, egg casserole, cheese grits, country ham, sausage patties, juices, cold cereal, etc. are available and the selection changes slightly each day according to the owner's whims. More allergen-friendly foods other than bananas, which was the only fruit offered, would really help folks like me with allergies and dietary restrictions. We did see a big roach the first night when we checked in and dozens of fruit flies in the kitchen and some in the common room where tables and chairs are set up. Overall, the place was not as clean and pristine as we would have expected a good B & B to maintain. Dusty floors, previous guests' trash under the beds, dusty light fixtures, moldy shower curtain, dusty bathroom exhaust fan, loose bathroom doorknob, etc. all in need of replacement or repair. Basically, not enough attention to the little details that really could have made our stay more comfortable and impressive.
