Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wilson I-95

I checked and went to the elevator. When the door opened I was overwhelmed by the smell of pot. When the doors opened on my floor I found a filthy hallway. Potatoes chips crumbs everywhere and the odor of pot made me sick to my stomach. Upon reaching my room I found that my keys were not activated. I tracked town a housekeeper to let me in. I found the furniture chipped and shabby. When I informed the person at the desk I was checking out they asked why. When I told them I found it dirty and smelling of pot I was told “we had a sold out night last night and I the person smoking pot was asked to leave, you just have to wait until it goes away”. She refused a full refund. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Check in was great. Assigned a room - got into the room and 1st thing I could hear was noise from the interstate. Went to the window and there was a gap from the window frame to the bottom of the window, could not even close it. Housekeeping did not notice the noise or the cold air coming into the room? They should have. Its was very noticeable. Went right down and let the guest reserve person know and she (sorry forgot to get her name) apologized & immediately switched us to another room.nBeds were comfortable. Great shower pressure. However after turning off the shower - the water continued to run, even though water was turned off and lever was pushed down. Sink was very very slow to drain. Walls had patched painting in several areas and water marks on the ceiling. No coffee down stairs (sign said broken). So had to go someplace else to get coffee before heading out. Its a place for an overnight stay.

Had a very nice room. Easy off & on I95 was a plus. They do the best they can with breakfast bc of the pandemic, but my tip is to pass on the eggs & go for the cinnamon roll or banana bread...or both!

Not what expected for a holiday inn. Outdated and short in staff. It was noisy inside and outside of the hotel. At 830 am breakfast was limited no plates, milk or cereal at that time. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I payed way to much

Great place to stay***** But if traveling to St SIMON'S ISLAND avoid Holiday Inn Express.....
