Lovill House Inn is an absolute gem of a B&B. The location couldn’t be more convenient. It is within easy striking distance of downtown Boone and Appalachian State University, yet manages to be tucked away in an idyllic, quiet setting that includes lovely landscaping, a running stream, and a beautiful waterfall. The guest rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully furnished. The common areas invite relaxation on the comfortable living room sofas, or better yet on the many rocking chairs that line the spacious wrap-around porch. Games, books, magazines, and an extensive DVD library are available for those who want to be more engaged. Innkeepers Anne and Scott are the true treasures of Lovill House Inn. Scott provides the perfect level of attentiveness. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Inn’s fascinating history and the many area attractions available to visitors. Anne is a gracious presence in the house. Her breakfasts are a delight with many delicious options that are sure to please. Heidi, the resident dog, keeps everything running smoothly. Lovill House Inn is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful High Country whether your goal is to hit all the action, or simply relax in the restorative mountain air. I will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a true B&B experience, you really need to stay here. The rooms are spacious and super comfortable. The whole house is comfortable and welcoming. They have everything you need and make sure you feel like it is a home away from home. The yard is beautiful and the listening to the stream in the back makes it so super relaxing. Anne and Scott are excellent hosts! Not only are they friendly, but they are also people you want to come back and see. Their son Jason was also very charming. Did I mention breakfast? Oh my goodness...absolutely delicious! We love staying in B&B’s in the states and overseas for the pure personal experience. This is one of the best we have ever been to. We will be back.

My husband and I spent two nights with Scott and Anne and enjoyed every minute! The Hickory room was delightful, breakfasts were amazing, and the serenity of the Lovill House property allowed us to relax and recharge. Great location within walking distance to downtown and campus and an easy beautiful drive to Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed staying with Scott and Anne so much at the inn! The property was very beautiful and neatly kept and our room was amazing. From the great breakfast to the free wifi everything was perfect. They both made you feel like you were at home. When we come back to the mountains we will definitely be staying there again. Great people!

Good food, warm accommodations and interesting conversation. Scott and Ann were wonderful and Boone can be just as charming.
