Best Western Raleigh North-Downtown

The Assistant manager at the front desk was very polite, but the appearance is nothing like the photos. My girlfriend and me did not feel safe at this particular location and there was a bad odor as soon as we walked in. The odor smelled of cigarette smoke even though it’s a “smoke free” building. Due to this we left basically cancelling the hotel stay as soon as we checked in. I tried getting a refund, but was informed that I have to call my bank once the money hits my bank statement. I need a refund ASAP!

Pros: Well-located for our needs. The staff was nice. Room was clean. Hotel was cheap.nCons; The hallway smelled like weed - and not faintly. We were staying on a ground floor room and the sliding glass door wouldn't lock properly.nNot bad for the price, but certainly not great.

The location is on an extremely busy street with lots of traffic. The room across from us had people in and out all day, being loud with music still playing after 2 am. Breakfast was a joke. I understand the protocol with Covid but I had expected better. Breakfast was a muffin, choice of drink, an apple, and Nature Valley granola bar handed to me in a brown paper bag. There was no meat at all. The room was outdated. The only positive things I have to say is the wash cloths and towels were fairly new and the rate was great. I have been staying at Best Western Hotels over the last several years, in several different States. This location is the Worst.

This is a simple, clean, nice hotel to stay at, especially if you go to a concert at the amphitheater nearby. The breakfast has a lot of variety and is refreshed often. Staff is really nice. The pool area is small but clean.

This has been one of my favorite hotels in Raleigh but recently the service and cleanliness has slacked.nnMy past stay, I encountered bed bugs. The front desk staff was very quick to refund my money and ensure the issue would be resolved but I will probably never stay there again.
