Holiday Inn Greensboro Coliseum

I enjoyed my stay here, although there are some needed improvements. The rooms are quiet and serene with welcoming resting accommodations. I enjoyed being able to set my comfortability levels with both the shower and room temperature. However, there's a refrigerator for keeping food but no microwave to allow heating and consumption of food either in the late pm or early am hrs, only 1 microwave in the lobby; are you kidding me. Why do I have to leave the comforts of my room to go downstairs to heat my food?!!!!!nThis by far is a four star potential establishment with a fully operational restaurant!!! Why are you not taking care of all the needs of your guest, if you can provide food; do it!!! We as customers love convenience!!!!@ i stay at a similar establishment in Orange Park FL, this is because of convenience and they welcome me by accommodating to all my needs!!!

I have stayed at this hotel three times and loved my first two stays. This time, however, we arrived very late so I called ahead to ensure the night shift would know we were arriving during the night audit. When I arrived, Paul greeted us at the door and began checking me into my reservation. As I saw the final price of my booking, I noted that it was $30 higher than quoted when I made the reservation. He said, “well that’s what it is.” I went to my phone and showed him the quoted price. He, then explained that there is an incidental fee put into the total cost of the room and will be refunded. As a former hotel manager, I told him I found that odd. Usually, the card was charged for room and tax and then the card on file is given an additional hold for incidentals. I asked him why I should sign for the price of the room and tax to include the incidental fee as if I agreed to be charged $30 higher for my stay. He then looked at me and said, “well you don’t have to stay here if you don’t want.” I immediately became irritated. What kind of statement is that to say to someone who booked ahead, drove five hours and showed up at 2:30am? He is right, I don’t have to stay here. There are plenty of other places to stay. But I would fire my former Guest Services staff member of that were their answer to a rational question of signing for a room charge that exceeds the quoted charge by $30. That’s not how you get guests to return nor is it how you handle guest questions. I’m not a hard guest to please, but if I spend my money, I want to know what I’m paying and be able to get non-sarcastic and condescending answers when the outcome is other than what was quoted or I expect. I asked for Paul’s name and thanked him for my room key. That $30 better fall off, or this review will be the least of his worries. Customer Service means a lot to me and it will to him too when I’m done writing.

Bar and restaurant are closed for foreseeable future. Nice spot

Had very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were nice and let our group store our luggage in a room while our event finished. Overall pretty nice.

The staff was so kind to us! My staff and I stayed at this property last week and it was great! We had terrific service on all fronts. The desk folks took great care of us. Housekeeping was so kind. Next time we swim in Greensboro, we will look here first! Thank you for attention to detail!
