Wingate by Wyndham High Point

This place os just the WORST! I wish i.could give it ZERO stars. The rooms are not dirty, but sure are not clean. Looks very thrown together, and cheap. The desk clerk (older male) does not seemed concerned with hospitality in ANY way. Apparently on a Friday, after 4pm he is the ONLY EMPLOYEE in the entire hotel. Just an all around BAD experience. Stayed there twice, after the first day, we left and stayed at the Clarion, MUUUUCH better and cheaper rates. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone. It just sucks, and expensive. Go figure

We had a great stay the front desk was awesome our first day check in went well our room was nice as well as clean we met the sweetest housekeeper Yolonda very pleasant very quiet just a great staynnthe jacuzzi tub and the jets out of this world the bed slept so good we had a great stay

Upon checking in and getting our room, everything was fine. That is, until we walked into our room. The TV was on, sheets on the floor, and it stunk like cigarettes. The front desk apologized and got us a new room, which was barely an improvement from the first one. The tub drain was clogged, toilet did not flush right, and the room was dirty. The mini refrigerator had gunk all over it. This was supposed to be a nice retreat for our anniversary, and it didn't turn out to be.

Thid is a really nice hotel. My only complaints would be that the heating unit is rather loud and the bed had a really firm mattress. I'm a softer mattress person myself so I can't say I had a restful sleep.

Don't waste your money. The person who checked us in was nice but the person working after her was not very friendly and never wore a mask. None of the staff is very helpful unfortunately. The bathtub in the room is a large jacuzzi tub but you cannot use the jets as it makes the tub vibrate uncomfortably and sounds like you are laying under a jetliner about to take off. This wasn't a problem with just our tub either as we had the experience of listening to the tub above us for about an hour late at night. The bed was so uncomfortable my husband and I were in literal physical pain the next morning. The breakfast is shut down due to covid and they have instead offered a sack breakfast that only has a fruitcup and nutrigrain bar in it. I cannot believe they are charging as much as they are for such substandard service. We left and went to Clarion where the room ended up being way nicer, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, they have a bar and drinks available to take to your room, a better grab and go breakfast, and we paid less.
